We had a snow day. It was only about 5″ of snow. But it was wet and heavy. After plowing and shoveling and delivery Deb to work, she hates driving in lousy weather, Erica and I relaxed for a bit at home. Then we went for a hike in the woods on snow shoes.
She tried trail blazing for a few dozen feet but decided it was much easier to follow me. We measured the snow base and found anywhere from 18″ to 30″ of snow, depending on where the snow had drifted. We went about a quarter-mile when Erica reported she was tired. So I tossed her on my shoulders and carried her home.
Which made me tired! But still, a nice way to end a weekend.
Please note that Deb, Erica and I have decided to drop our home phone service, which is currently through Vonage. We are going to use our mobile phones only. If you don’t have our cellular phone numbers or need some clarification on how best to contact us in certain circumstances then email me and I’d be happy to talk about it.
We have something going every weekend. Yesterday was a first for us. Deb and three of her co-workers raced at the 2009 US National Toboggan Championship, at the Camden Snow Bowl, in Camden, Maine. The following is a shot video I took of their run down the toboggan chute.
